The only mounting device available was the old-fashioned strut that you've seen for years, a C-shaped channel that traps dirt and grime, originally designed for non-sanitary applications, not for pristine environments like those found in food processing companies, pharmaceutical manufacturers, etc.

The owners of the company started making their own strut out of stainless steel to finish the installation of their equipment in a sanitary way. Over the years the design of the strut was perfected to the point where it is today.
